Martha Demers | Grades K - 1 | marthademers@ossu.org | My name is Martha Demers and I have been a fellow Woodburian for almost 17 years now- for 10 of those years I was a fellow Woodbury parent! My own two daughters are now students at Hazen. I live near Woodbury Lake with my husband- also a teacher- my daughters and four cats. I absolutely love our little community here and I love teaching our younger students! I grew up in Shelburne, VT and received my Bachelor of Science from UVM in 2001 and have been teaching in the early childhood/early elementary world for 20 years now. I have been teaching K/1 at Woodbury Elementary since 2019. Teaching at Woodbury is my dream job, and even with all the extra "bumps in the road" COVID-19 has presented, I absolutely love teaching and being a part of this school. |

Amber Fecteau | Grades 1 - 2 | amberfecteau@ossu.org |
Hi, my name is Amber Fecteau and I am from and currently live in Wolcott. I have grown up around Woodbury and I have grown to love it’s small, family community that is very welcoming. I have been a teacher here since I graduated from Northern Vermont University in 2021. I studied elementary and special education at NVU and CCV right after I graduated from Hazen Union in 2015. I knew from a young age that teaching was a huge interest of mine. Outside of school you can find me walking our land and exploring the ponds around it, snowmobiling, walking and playing with my dog, Lexi and being around my family. I have just started my journey as a teacher and I could not ask for a better school and community to start this journey with. |

David Swanson | Grades 3 - 4 | dswanson@ossu.org | Hi, my name is Dave Swanson. I'm a native Vermonter who grew up in Williston. I like to spend time outdoors and being active.I have worked within schools for over twenty-five years and have been the third and fourth grade teacher at Woodbury Elementary for almost fifteen years. I enjoy the family-like atmosphere of our small school and helping students progress in their learning. I helped to establish a school garden where many vegetables are grown, including garlic which my class plants annually. |

Lindsey Benton | Grades 5 - 6 | lbenton@ossu.org | My name is Lindsey Benton and I live with my son and husband in Barre, VT. I grew up in a rural community in western New York where I spent most of my early childhood playing in the creek and creating art. I have always had an appreciation for art and science, and I enjoy finding the creative overlap between these two passions. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from SUNY Geneseo. After completing my Masters of Education degree from Antioch University New England, I spent 9 years teaching middle grades at a Waldorf school in Vermont. I am thankful to join the Woodbury Elementary School community and value its strong sense of community. |
